Craig Kielburger was born on December 17, 1982 in Thornhill, Vaughan, Canada. In 1995, when Craig was 12 years old he read about a child named Iqbal Masih who was 12 years old just like him, who was murdered. Later, Craig realized that Iqbal was murdered because he was standing up for what he believed in.

He started out small, like us. Once, he heard about a kid (Iqbal Masih) who being forced to do dangerous things as their job and getting minimum wage. That changed his life forever. Craig Kielburger started 2 very big foundations to save the children involved in child labor.
